IV Therapy - Intravenous Nutrient Infusion
Our cells require vitamins and minerals for the proper biochemical processes for our overall health. These nutrients can be obtained from many sources, including the foods we eat and select nutritional supplements, such as multivitamins or antioxidants. However, we can only absorb a certain amount from these sources. Infusing these substances directly into the blood circulation allows a chance to provide a higher concentration of vitamins and minerals than would be possible by taking supplements. This then allows for rapid delivery of these nutrients directly to our cells and tissues by bypassing the gastrointestinal tract. Other benefits include the ability to provide nutrients and medicines that would otherwise be difficult due to their poor absorption rate, or any barriers to normal absorption, such as a digestive illness. In addition to vitamins and minerals, other substances that can be infused include botanical extracts and antioxidant compounds if required.
Intravenous administration of nutrients can achieve serum concentration not obtainable with oral or even IM (Intramuscular) administration. Cells are repeatedly flooded with nutrients and the improvement can be cumulative.
